Join Grow Society
Grow Society is committed to the growth and safety of all its members, partners, and partnering organizations. To ensure that we meet our commitment, Grow Society is dedicated to ensuring that every team member:
- Completes anti-bias/anti-racist training upon hire to further develop critical cultural competencies and understandings of systemic racism;
- Demonstrates understanding and use of common language to navigate internalized racist oppression and internalized biases of white supremacy;
- Participates in quarterly professional development in which all team members come together to challenge and refine our policies, protocols, and philosophies to ensure that we are perpetually growing in our equity, diversity, and inclusion.
If you are interested in applying to join our team, we encourage you to thoroughly examine our website to get a full understanding of our operating philosophies and perspectives.
Knowing the importance of alignment between the values you hold and the values of an organization to which you’re applying, here are some things you should know:
- We are a family-first organization. At no point in their work with Grow Society should anyone be embarrassed about or apologetic for needing to tend to the needs of children or family members. Our families are as much apart of Grow Society as our we are. We begin many of our calls by acknowledging off-screen family members and celebrating their milestones such as lost teeth, new drawings, graduations, new jobs and other accomplishments. This will never change.
- As a family-first organization, we are practitioners of flexible scheduling. The traditional 9-to-5 model does not serve the health interest of anyone subjected to it. Through flexible scheduling, we’ll co-design timelines that meet your needs. Many of our employees have enjoyed our “flex-work” option, which allows for per-diem and part-time schedules that offer a balanced approach to work and life.
- We are a learning organization. Each day we become increasingly aware of our unconscious biases as individuals and as an organization. We do the work of addressing these biases, both individually and collectively, ensuring that our progressive awareness results in changes to our perspectives, policies and practices. Engagement in this work is an expectation for each and every member of Grow Society.
- Community is the cornerstone to change. We believe it is by the experience of our least resourced members that we are able to determine our health as a society. Grow Society members regularly volunteer to serve at community events, service centers, and neighborhood projects. In addition, 25% of our net-profit is reinvested in our communities through direct-to-recipient provisions, including food and clothing drives, the gifting of school supplies, Donors Choose donations, and vetted community initiatives.
